Basic Life Support: Healthcare & Professional Rescuers

The course highlights immediate life-threatening situations, demonstrates how to respond to them quickly and effectively, and offers some perspective about how often these situations occur. Topics covered include the role of the professional rescuer in emergencies, how to prevent transmission of infectious disease, assessing the victims’ condition, basic life support, including rescue breathing, cardiac emergencies, and CPR, airway obstruction, AED, special resuscitation situations and advanced resuscitation.

Behavior - Based Safety

Behavior-based safety is a proactive approach to safety and health management. Behavior-based safety recognizes unsafe or at-risk behaviors as a frequent cause of both minor and serious injuries. The aim of the behavior-based approach is to reduce the occurrence of at-risk behavior by modifying such behaviors through observation, feedback, and positive interventions. Ultimately, safer work habits will evolve.

Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens

This course follows the guidelines set forth by the National Safety Council. This course is ideal for anyone that has exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. This course goes beyond the OSHA standard to include information and skills to minimize the risk of airborne pathogens, such as tuberculosis.
