Hand & Power Tools Training

This course teaches  tool users about key safety issues, according to OSHA and the manufacturer's instructions. Hazardous (HazCom) Communication

Our Hazard Communication Compliance Course will help you comply with the HCS in your own facility. This course will cover the key elements of the HCS, and show you how to protect your employees and your business. In this course we will cover How to determine if hazardous chemicals are present in your workplace, steps for setting up an effective hazard communication program, guidelines for labeling hazardous chemicals, using material safety data sheets (MSDS) to evaluate hazardous chemical exposures, promoting responsibility for initial and ongoing hazard communication activities, assessing gaps between the HCS and your workplace program, and identifying key actions for closing those gaps.

HAZWOPER - Awareness Training
(Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response)

This 4 hour course is for the First Responder, at the awareness level.  First responders are those who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release. They would initiate an emergency response by notifying the proper authorities of the release and should not take any further action. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG).

Topics covered include an understanding of hazardous substances, the risks associated with them, the potential outcomes in an emergency, the ability to recognize and identify hazardous substances, site security, the ability to realize the need for additional resources, and the ability to make appropriate notifications.

HAZWOPER - Operations Level

This 8 hour course is for the First Responder,  at the operations level.   First responders at the operations level are those who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances. As the initial response to the site for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release, they will be trained to respond in a defensive fashion. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook.

Topics include: Knowledge of the basic hazard and risk assessment techniques, selection and use of proper personal protective equipment,  basic hazardous materials terms, skills to perform basic control, containment and/or confinement operations based on specific site contstraints, basic decontamination procedures, as well as relevant standard operating and termination procedures.

HAZWOPER - Hazardous Materials Specialist

This 24 hour course is for the Hazardous Materials Specialist.  Hazardous Materials specialists are individuals who respond and provide support to hazardous materials technicians. (Similar to the hazardous materials technician, however, the technician's duties require a more directed or specific knowledge of the various substances they may be called upon to contain) The hazardous materials specialist  acts as the site liaison with Federal, state, local and other government authorities in regards to site activities. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook.

Topics include: Implementation of the local emergency response plan, classification identification and verification of known and unknown materials, knowledge of the state emergency response plan, selection and use of proper specialized chemical PPE, in-depth hazard and risk techniques, specialized control, containment, and confinement operations,  decontamination procedures, develop a site safety and control plan, as well as understand chemical, radiological and toxicological terminology and behavior.

HAZWOPER - Hazardous Materials Technician

This 24 hour course is for the Hazardous Materials Technician.   Hazardous Materials Technicians respond to releases or potential releases for the purpose of stopping the release. They assume a more aggressive role than a first responder at the operations level. They would approach the point of release in order to plug, patch or otherwise stop the release of a hazardous substance. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook.

Topics include: Implementation of the employer's emergency response plan, classification identification and verification of known and unknown materials, knowledge of the specific roles in the Incident Command System, selection and use of proper specialized chemical personal PPE, in-depth hazard and risk techniques,  advance control containment, and confinement operations within the capabilities of the resources and PPE available with the unit, decontamination procedures, understand termination procedures, as well as understand basic chemical and toxicological terminology and behavior.

HAZWOPER - Hazardous Waste Site Worker

The 40-hour course is designed for persons engaged in hazardous substance removal or other associated activities such as equipment operators, general laborers and supervisors. This training is mandatory for persons before they begin work at an uncontrolled hazardous waste site. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook.

Topics covered include site characterization, site safety and health plans, medical surveillance, basic confined space entry procedures, selection and use of advanced personal protective equipment, decontamination of equipment and tools emergency planning for hazardous waste sites.

HAZWOPER - Incident Commander

This 24 hour course is for the Incident commander, who will assume control of the incident scene beyond the first responder awareness level. Each participant will receive a student manual, a NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, and an Emergency Response Guidebook.

Topics Include: Implementation of the employer's incident command system and the employer's emergency response plan, hazards and risks associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing, implementation the local emergency response plan, knowledge of the state emergency response plan and of the Federal Regional Response Team, as well as decontamination procedures.

Hearing Conservation

This course will increase employees’ understanding of how noise can damage hearing.
